Tiaras worn at german noble/royal Weddings

At german royal/noble Weddings i have attended i have seen several tiaras. In most cases the bride wears a tiara which either belong to the Familiy of the b ride or groom. Often it as tiara which has been worn by several brides in the Family before and which is wellknown but it can also be that it is a tiara there is no Informatiion to whom it belongs or it’s history.

Hesse Ears of Wheat tiara

This tiara from the colleciton of Electoral Family of Hesse was worn by Laetita Bechtolf at her Wedding to pPince Philip of Hesse in 2006. it was also worn by her sister-in-law Countess Floria of Faber-Castell at her wedding to the then Hereditary Prince Heinrich Donatus in 2004 and by Princess Tatiana zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg at ther Wedding to the future Landgrave Moritz in 1964.

Schaumburg-Lippe Cunningham tiara

This diamond tiara from the collection of the Princely Family of Schaumburg-Lippe was worn by Nadja Anna Zsoeks at her Wedding to Fürst Alexander zu Schaumburg-Lippe in 2007. It was also worn by Alexander’s first wife Princess Marie Louise (Lily) zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berlebuirg at her Wedding Day in 1993. Other brides who wore it are Princess Viktoria Luise Schaumburg-Lippe and Baroness Benita of Tiele-Winckler when she married the then Hereditary Prince Philipp-Ernst.

 

Greek key tiara

This greek key tiara was worn by Countess Isabelle of Egloffstein at her Wedding to Prince Karl-Emich zu Leiningen in 2007. It is not known who owns the tiara but it is likely to be a tiara from the collection of the Family of the bride. Her maternal grandmother, Countess Ursula von der Recke, née Countess of Pappenheim was the heiress of the estate of the comital Family of Pappenheim.

Douglas floral tiara

The douglas floral tiara belongs to Duchess Elizabeth in Bavaria, née Countess Douglas. It’s history is not known but hir daughters made it  a tradition to wear it at their Weddings. First it was worn in 1991 by Duchess Marie Caroline at her Wedding to Duke Philipp of Württemberg, followed by Duchess Sophie who married Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein in 1993. The next one who used it was Duchess Elizabeth who married Daniel Terberg in 2004. The last bride so far who used it was Duches Anna at her first Wedding to Klaus Runow in 2007.

diamond and pearl tiara

This diamond and pearl tiara was worn by Elna-Margaret Rinn at her Wedding to Hereditary Prince Carl-Ferdinand zu Benthem and Steinfurt in 2007. It is not known who owns this tiara but probably it is from the collection of the Prinely Family of Bentheim and Steinfurt.

Toerring-Jettenbach floral tiara

This diamond floral tiara belong the comital Family of Toerring-Jettenbach. It was worn by Countess Antonioa who married Count Felix of Spiegel in 2008. Also her sister Countess Eleonore used it at her wedding to Prince Franz-Clemens of Altenburg in 2015. Other wearers of it where Countess Clarissa who married in 1999 Prince Tassilo of Ratibor and Corvey, Prince zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst and Robinia Mentasti-Granelli the wife of Hereditary Count Ignatz.

 

Bavarian floral diamond and sapphire tiara

Thuis floral diamond and sapphjire tiara belong to the bavarian royal Family likely. It is usually worn by the descendants ot the late Prince Franz. It was worn by Princess Irmingard of Bavaria for one of her offical Wedding pictures. She also wore the bavarian Lovers Knot tiara for another official picture so it is not known which one she wore for the ceremony. Later it was worn by her granddaugher’s Alice  at her Wedding to Prince Lukas of Auersperg in 2009 and  Auguste when she married Prince Ferdinand zur Lippe-Weißenfeld a year later. Most recently it was worn by the Henreitte Gruse who married Prince Heinrich in 2017.

 

Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg floral tiara

This diamond floral tiaras from the collection of the Princely House of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenbrg was worn by Baroness Iris of Dörnberg at her wedding to Prince Hubertus in 2010. It was also worn by her sister-in.law Baroness Stephanie iof Brenken when she married the late Hereditary Prince Carl Friedrich. Previously it was also wrn by several of the sisters of the present Fürst Alois-Konstantin at their Wedding’s in the 1950’s and 60’s.

Khedive of Egypt tiara

This wellknown tiara which is now in the posession of Queen Anne-Marie of the Helllenes has a long history as bridal tiara. It was actually herself who whore it first on her Wedding Day in 1964. Later it was also worn by her sisters Benedikte at her Wedding to Prince Richard zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and the present danish Queen Margrethe at her Wedding in 19067. A generatiuon alter the tiara was first worn by Princess Alexandra zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg at her Wedding to Count Jefferson of Pfeil and Klein-Ellguth and a year later by Pricness Alexia of Greece. The most recent bride was Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg who married in 2011 Alexander Johannsmann.

This daimond and pearl tiara was worn by Coutness Felipa Spannocchi at her Wedding to Prince Ludwig (Louis) zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn. It is not known if the the tiara belong to the Princely Family ot the Family of the bride.

Isenburg floral tiara

This dianmond floral tiara from the collection of the Princely Family of Isenburg dates from the middle iof the 19th Century and is worn by the Princesses of Isenburg at the wedding Days. Most recently it was worn by Princess Sophie at her Wedding to Prince Georg Friedrich of Prusssia in 2011. 3 years later it was also worn by Sarah Lorentz, the bride of Hereditary Alexander.

This diamond tiara was worn by Countess Dorothea zu Castell-Castell at her Wedding to Prince Heinrich XXIV. Reuß. It is not known if the tiara belongs to  the Family of the bride or the groom’s Family.

 

Baden sunburst tiara

This sunburst tiara which consist of seven sunbursts belong’s the the Grand Ducal Family of Baden. it has a history as Wedding tiara as it was already worn by Archduchess Valerie of Asutria-Tuscany when she married Margrave Max in 1966. Later it was worn by Stephanie Kaul the wife of Hereditary Prince Bernhard in 2001 and most recently by Christina Höhne at her wedding to Prince Michael in 2015.

 

Oettingen-Spielberg diamond tiara

This diamond tiara from the collection of the Princely Family of Oettingen-Spielberg was recetnly worn by Prinvess Theresa zu Oettingen-Spielberg at her Wedding to Carl Christian etker. Later it was worn Baroness Cleopatra of Adelsheim when she married Hereditary Franz Albrecht and by Princess Nora who married in 2017 Lord Max Percy.

 

Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg diamond and emerald tiara

This diamond tiara with emerald drops which belongs to the Princely Family of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg was worn by Princess Sophie zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg at her Wedding to Count Constantin Fugger of Babenhausen.

This diamond garland tiara fwas worn by Countess Alixe zu Königsegg-Auleondorf at her Wedding to Philipp Lovrek in 2017. It had earlier belonged to Archduess Marie-Alice of Austria who married Baron Friedrich Waldbott of Bassenheim. It came probably into the poession of the comital Family of Königsegg-Aulendorf through their daughter Stephanie who married Count Johannes of Königsegg-Aulendorf.

 

Hannover floral tiara

This diamond floral tiara fro the collection of the Royal House of Hannover was worn by Ekaterina Malysheva when she married Hereditary Prince Ernst August of Hannover in July 2017. It’s history is not known although it was earlier worn by her mother-in-law Princess Chantal and Princess Caroline of Monaco, the second wife of Prince Ernst Augst sr.

 

prussian Meander tiara

This diamond tiara was once given by the last german-prussian Crown Prince Wilhelm to his bride Duchess Cecilie zu Mecklenburg in 1905. A gerneration later it was by their daughter-in-law Grand Duchess Kira of Russia when she marrid their son Prince Louis Ferdinand. Te next to wear ti where 2 daughter of Louis Ferdinand and Kira the Princesses Marie-Cécile and Xenia at ther Weddings. It was then not seen until 2011 when Princess Sophie of Isenburg  wore it for the Ball held in the evening of her Wedding Day to Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia. Most recetly it was worn by Princess Viktoria Luise at her Wedding to Hereditary Prince Ferdinand zu Leiningen.
